Why am I Serving?

When President Thomas S Monson announced that the new age for missionaries was 18 for elders and 19 for sisters I was very excited...
not for myself,
but for friends I knew would be ecstatic!
I didn't think it was something I would do though.
Nevertheless,
I prayed and pondered the idea a lot and surprisingly to me, the answer was yes.
I needed to serve a  mission.   There was no worry, confusion, anxiety, nothing like that.  100% peace and confidence.
I knew that this opportunity would bless the lives of many people--the people I serve and bring to Christ, my family and friends at home, my future spouse, my posterity, and myself.
So why not?
I know that this church is the true church of God and it makes me so happy to have the knowledge of God and His plan that I have and I want to share it with others, to bring them the happiness I feel because of it.  Bringing others closer to Jesus Christ is an important part of this plan.  God wants all of His children to come to Him and His Son so that we can return to live with them and our families eternally.
I started filling out my papers in February and submitted them in April.  I received the call to serve in the Russia Moscow Mission reporting August 28th 2013.

This blog is a place I've made to post my letters home :) See ya in March 2015!
